South Florida hospitality in April 2026
Nu Stadium changes the matchday map. Food halls, cafés and a new Broward market add places to eat, while established operators leave individual sites.
April gave owners a reason to redraw their trade areas. Inter Miami started playing at Nu Stadium, Flagler Village gained a food market, and new dining rooms opened across Miami-Dade. Those are different kinds of demand. A matchday crowd needs a different service plan from a neighborhood lunch customer. [1][2][8][9]
Closures elsewhere left individual storefronts in transition. Some operators were seeking another address; others ended a long run. Those distinctions matter when judging whether a neighborhood has lost a business or is waiting for its next location.
My takeaways
Coverage: Apr 1, 2026 to Apr 30, 2026. Events are grouped by when they happened, where verified. Announcements, relocations and planned projects are labeled separately. These are documented developments, not a census of every opening or closure.

Four Seasons Miami adds Séptimo
The seventh-floor cocktail bar opened inside the hotel.Details & sources

Our read
La Traila's breakfast service and Séptimo's evening bar call for different labor plans. Compare a new competitor by the hours it needs to fill, then look at the guest occasion you share. Before adding a service period yourself, test its contribution after staffing and waste.

Jan’s Homemade Candies ends service
The longtime candy shop closed April 30.Details & sources
Sources: [4]
Our read
Smorgasburg gives vendors a place to test dishes and service speed before considering a larger commitment. Record orders per hour, sellouts and food carried back after the market. A popular stall still needs a separate business case for a full restaurant, with more hours and a larger payroll.
Changes in Palm Beach County

The Mediterranean concept gives the district another dinner destination. Its opening should be evaluated separately from later hotel and tenant phases.

2 Chef’s Souparee closes after its lease ends
The soup restaurant stopped serving April 25.Details & sources

Our read
Del Mar adds another reason to choose NORA for dinner. Nearby operators should watch where guests arrive, wait and leave, then make their own entrance and offer easy to understand from the street. For lunch-oriented businesses near the closed Palm Beach Gardens and Greenacres sites, speak with neighboring tenants about which customer routines have been interrupted.
Marathon and Key West
Brutus Land & Sea shuts in Marathon

Our read
Arrival logistics belong in the guest experience budget. Reconfirm pickup instructions with transport partners when airport facilities move, and make sure the front desk sends the same directions. Restaurant operators facing a shutdown need a written staff, supplier and guest communication plan before the last service.
Matchdays begin at Miami Freedom Park
Inter Miami begins playing at Nu Stadium
The 26,700-seat stadium hosted its first match on April 4.Details & sources
Our read
Build a separate matchday sales view before changing permanent staffing. Track reservations against kickoff times, check how traffic affects delivery access, and design a short pre-match menu that the kitchen can execute quickly. A full stadium does not tell you how many guests will stop at your restaurant.
What owners can do
- Add nearby matchdays and market operating hours to the sales forecast. Compare sales and labor on those dates with similar weekdays before extending service hours.
- For any vacated site under consideration, obtain the equipment inventory, use approvals and proposed lease terms. Price the reset before assigning value to an existing kitchen.
- Separate each new service period in the P&L. Breakfast, lunch and late-night sales should each cover the extra labor and prep they create.
