Miami-Dade approves a $2.75 transit fare for January 2027
The 50-cent increase will help preserve bus service, but some late-night and other route reductions remain in the budget.
Miami-Dade approved an increase in the standard Metrobus and Metrorail fare from $2.25 to $2.75, effective in January 2027. The county says the additional funding will preserve service on 13 routes previously marked for elimination, including late-evening coverage on major corridors. Other reductions remain, including some service after 10 p.m. The October 6 announcement does not give an exact January implementation day, so the change is not yet in effect.
Closing shifts depend on whether employees can get home after the last table leaves. Map affected team members' routes against actual clock-out times and check the revised schedules when published. Include transit costs and any transport support in the labor plan before changing shift coverage.
