Port Everglades maps $1.7 billion in possible cruise upgrades
A 20-year investment list includes terminal, berth, parking and roadway work, but individual projects still need funding and approvals.
Port Everglades CEO Joseph Morris outlined as much as $1.7 billion of potential cruise-related investment over 20 years. The list includes terminal reconstruction, wharf and berth work, passenger bridges, garages and roadway improvements. The projects sit within the port's broader Master/Vision Plan, which identifies more than $3 billion across cruise, cargo and petroleum operations. This is a planning pipeline, not a single funded construction program.
Hotels and restaurants should treat the plan as a long-term access and capacity signal, not near-term demand. Track individual budgets, approvals and construction schedules before changing forecasts. During terminal or road work, confirm how guest transfers and employee commutes will be affected.
